Being the host country of the European Union, Belgium had to lead by example when it comes to online casino regulations. Unfortunately, that led to a lot of international online casinos not being able to accept players from Belgium. That’s why we put together a list of casinos that accept Belgian players (either with or without a local license), so you don’t waste time searching. When talking about the localization services of an online casino, Belgium is quite demanding with Dutch, French, and German being the official languages. In our list of casinos, you will find the ones that offer a fully-translated website and customer support in all three languages. Last but not least, you will gain access to awesome and exclusive Belgische online casino bonus codes that are connected with the top offers in the region.

Online gambling has been declared legal in 2011 through the Belgian Gambling Act. Unlike other European countries that went for a state-monopolized gambling market, Belgium decided to go for a much more competitive system of issuing licenses. Both online casinos and sportsbook are legal in the country, provided they acquire a license from the Belgian Gaming Commission. The license issued by other regulatory authorities like MGA or the UKGC are “technically” not recognized.
However, despite showing a level of openness towards the competition and creating a reputable gambling market, Belgium came with some restrictive requirements for an operator to receive a license. The best example to illustrate this comes from the requirements for an operator to also have a physical presence in the country. This means that any international online casino that wants to open shop in Belgium needs to partner with an existing land-based casino or apply to start the process from scratch.
Furthermore, all casinos that offer gambling services to Belgian players without having a license are placed on the local blacklist. Belgium is notorious for its massive blacklist of operators that are blocked by ISPs and can even be targeted with fines of up to €100,000. This blacklist is updated monthly, and DNS blocks are set in place for each new name added to it. So far, it includes famous names such as Betway, Jackpot City or BetVictor.
However, even licensed operators deal with restrictions. For example, late in 2019, the authorities proposed a complete halt of gambling advertisements on television, radio, newspapers and any outdoor billboards. All the members of the Belgian Association of Gaming Operators have agreed with this rule and starting from the 1st of January 2021, all advertisements stopped.
When talking about gambling from the player’s perspective, the restrictions are not that many though. No actions are taken against the ones playing on international online casinos, and the legal age for gambling online is 21. And while there’s no tax for lottery wins in Belgium, online casino wins are taxed with 11% by the authorities, should you wish to declare your winnings.
When referring strictly to online casinos, Belgium has two different types of licenses, Class A and Class A+. In order for an online casino to apply for a license, they need to have offices in Belgium and also be associated with one of the existing land-based establishments. No operator is eligible for an A+ license, the one that grants permission for online gambling, without partnering with a land-based licensed venue. Currently, there are 10 licensed online casinos in Belgium as an exception was made for E.C.K NV to own and operate two venues. Here are some more information regarding the 2 casino license types.
Despite the efforts of the local regulator to keep unlicensed operators away, not all agree with the way the laws were made. Actually, there were a couple of attempts to attack the Belgian Gambling Act to the EU Court of Justice. Even though they didn’t have any luck changing the laws, there are operators that still consider them unfair and continue offering their services in the region. Let’s see how the locally-licensed operators compare with the international ones.
Having just 10 licensed online casinos to choose from, Belgian players can’t really enjoy the diversity of other countries. That’s why there’s a high demand for international brands accepting players from Belgium. Here’s what they have to offer:
Since we want you to have a full overview of the online casino market in Belgium, we couldn’t leave out the brands that applied and received a license to operate in the region. We’ve included both international brands that managed to acquire a license from the Belgian Gaming Commission as well as brands that operate only on a local level. Here are the most popular ones together with the highlights of what each one offers.
Bwin.be is one of the biggest online casinos to operate legally in Belgium. The website is available in French and Dutch besides English, and they won the Casino of the Year award back in 2018. They come with a generous welcome offer for new players and a wide selection of online slots. Also, plenty of versions of dice, blackjack, and roulette are available here, such as the French Roulette or Multi-hand blackjack.
Depositing and requesting a withdrawal is straightforward at bwin with plenty of payment options to choose from. No matter if you go for internet banking, ewallets or cards, you can rest assured knowing they have everything covered.
Unibet Belgique needs no further presentation. A global brand that successfully adhered to even the most difficult markets in terms of regulations, Unibet offers its distinct services to Belgian players. The website is translated into French and Dutch, and the same goes for customer support availability. With plenty of offers for casino and live dealer games, Unibet managed to get quite an impressive share of the casino market in Belgium.
Offering local payment options like hipay, Bancontact and supporting online bank transfers from all the Belgian banks, depositing and cashing out at Unibet is a breeze. To the local methods, you can also add PayPal, Neteller, Skrill or Paysafecard.
NapoleonGames.be is different than our other two examples. If so far we looked at international brands that got a local license to offer their services in Belgium, this one is 100% local. The owners of the land-based casino, Casino of Knokke, wanted to come with their own online component and did a great job at it. With a generous welcome bonus and intriguing offers along the way, a diverse offer of slots and table games from Microgaming, NetEnt or Yggdrasil among dice games and many more, NapoleonGames is the best example of how a local business can develop an online casino that doesn’t do a bad job competing with the international brands (although not beating them).
Since we already mentioned there are 10 online casino A+ licenses issued by the Belgian Gaming Commission, besides the three we presented above, you will be able to enjoy top-quality casino services on:
You should know that not all casinos accepting Belgian players will also be able to deliver the local payment options. However, some of the most popular methods are present at some of the international brands.
The market leader for electronic payments in Belgium, Bancontact had an easy time partnering with the online casinos in the area. Previously known as Mister Cash, it works as a card issued by all the Belgian banks. The minimum deposit is regimented by each operator, however, it usually stands at €10, while the maximum you can deposit in one go is €1,000. It can be used for both deposits and withdrawals with no added fees. The processing time for a withdrawal is the standard for any debit card out there.
Hipay is the local online banking transfer option for casino enthusiasts in Belgium. Just like Klarna (Sofort) in Germany or Interac in Canada, it allows players to transfer money instantly to their casino accounts. The minimum deposit is €20, and you can also use it to withdraw your funds from the casino. Hipay does not add any fees to both deposits and withdrawals.
If the online casino you’re playing at doesn’t offer the above-mentioned payment options, you still have plenty to choose from. For example, you can add funds through online banking via ING and Ogone (previously known as Belfius), a local platform that also allows you to pay directly from your bank account. Besides, you can use the popular international payment options like Skrill, Neteller, EcoPayz, CASHlib and many more. When playing at casinos that don’t have a license, it’s better to go for ewallets and payment options that guarantee anonymity.
As mentioned before, international casinos have no limitations when it comes to big deposit offers and no deposit bonuses. A good bonus can make a huge difference in terms of winning and here’s what to expect.
Many international sites offer bonuses via bonus codes. This is a method to stand out from the crowd and also give extra value to their players. A bonus code can be used in the special sections of the casino to unlock a custom-tailored bonus. These bonuses can refer to sets of free spins or cash and even invites to exclusive tournaments. In our list, besides the best online casinos in Belgium, you will also find unique Belgische online casino bonus codes to boost your gambling experience.
It’s good to know that these bonuses come with wagering requirements most of the time. While the wagering requirements for free spins sit at around 30 – 35x, the cash bonuses can go some times even higher than that.

Besides the increased deposit bonuses offered by international casinos through bonus codes, there are also special Belgische casino no deposit bonus offers to sweeten the pot. Usually offered right after signup, these promotions act as a free pass for players that want to have a first-hand experience in that casino before making an initial investment. Just like the deposit bonuses, these also come with wagering requirements attached that are sometimes bigger than for a deposit offer. The most popular no deposit bonuses are sets of 20 – 30 free spins or a €10 bonus.
It’s no secret that Belgian casino players are big fans of dice games. No matter if they’re presented as online slots with dice symbols or characteristics borrowed from craps or actual variations of craps, they’re huge in Belgium. There’s even a separate licensing category (B+) that allows slot machine arcades to operate online.
A dice slot machine is pretty much similar to any video slot out there. However, the main difference comes from the fact that the symbols are all represented by dice. The reels are populated by various dice symbols of various values. You need to spin the reels and try to match as many winning combinations as possible. The features in dice slots are also a little different compared to the regular ones. You have a streak that increases your chances of winning by spinning the reels after a winning combination. The symbols are locked into place, and then you can match even more identical symbols.
There are dedicated software providers, like Air Dice or EurAutomat, that design dice games and you can find these games in local and offshore casinos as well. Some of the most popular international online casinos to offer dice slots are Unibet, Betway, and Blitz.
Other types of dice games popular among Belgian players include the regular craps or several variations of scratch-card-like games that involve dice. You can either roll the craps and bet on the outcome of your throw or simply match identical faces of the dice in order to get winning combinations. The graphics of these dice games are less flashy compared to dice slots, however, the bonus rounds and winning possibilities are just as high. Casinos in Belgium also have special bonuses designed for dice games and, even though these are not that popular around the world, there are a few international online casinos offering them as well.
Lay hands on exclusive daily bonuses for members only. These promos are limited and are not advertised on the website.
