Yggdrasil launches new Viking slot called Age of Asgard

Yggdrasil, the Swedish igaming provider, launched its latest slot, Age of Asgard. Based on the Nordic mythology the new slot promises big wins for the players.

Yggdrasil, being an innovative provider constantly striving for pioneering features, delivered a slot that presents a brand new double grid mechanism with different symbols on each bunch of reels. It is clearly a battle between good and evil as the upper reel displays shield maidens (fighting female warriors) of Norse mythology while on the other reel their evil enemies lurk.

The background of the slot comes from a frozen Viking era as well. The snowflakes falling on the fire along with the wooden statues of warrior gods and their evil counterparts create the impressive scenery of Asgard, the battlefield of the Gods.

The slot features stacked wild symbols that replace any other symbol to form winning paylines and trigger a Respin. When two enemies meet on the same reels of the two different grids then they fight each other and produce 2-4 smaller wilds.

The game features Free Spins symbols, too. When 3-5 of them appear simultaneously on the reels then the two grids become one, forming a huge 5X6 grid. The players will be given 10 free spins each time but the Respin feature promises even more.

Furthermore, Age of Asgard “has a card up its sleeve”. If you land 6 Free Spins symbols on the reels then the mode of Ragnarok Free Spins activates. Ragnarok or the “final battle” was dealt as the ultimate horror by the Viking culture because it was considered that it would end their world. For the players, though, it’s totally the opposite. Ragnarok mode rewards the players with 20 free spins and consequently can lead to great winnings

Natalya Ovchinnikova, Product Owner Slots at Yggdrasil, commented that the Age of Asgard brings a whole lot of new features to the table that’s why she is curious about the response of Yggdrasil’s fans and partners.
