Scientific Games Corporation confirmed that they will join along with their retailers “Gift Responsibly. Lottery Tickets Aren’t Child’s Play” responsible gaming campaign that is organized by the National Council on Problem Gambling during Christmas holiday. The involvement of the American colossus of lottery games in the campaign is considered a big asset by the Council. Scientific Games helped the campaign last year as well by taking part in it along with all U.S. and Canadian lottery companies.
Pat McHugh, Group Chief Executive, Lottery for Scientific Games stated that his company puts great value on the responsible gaming scheme. It’s one of the pioneers that were certified by the World Lottery Association for being a responsible gaming provider. McHugh added that Scientific Games takes responsible gaming as serious as it gets by supporting a lot of initiatives and also works hand-in-hand with the operators in order to prevent underage gambling. Commenting on the latter McHugh said that the company produces constantly new technologies like SG Vision to keep track of the underaged lottery purchases and eventually prevent them from happening.
Scientific Games even created a new role at its organizational structure by naming Carla Schaefer, a lottery branding expert, as Vice President of Responsible Gaming Lottery. Schaefer’s new duties consist of implementing a proactive plan to raise awareness for responsible gaming across the partners of the company by consulting with all the workgroups of the company.
Schaefer expressed her pride in the values of the company, which include integrity and social responsibility. She added that lotteries are supposed to entertain adults, not kids and it should remain that way.
The American provider is promoting its responsible gaming products and services to more than 150 lotteries spread across 50 countries all over the world. Especially, in the region of North America, Scientific Games is considered to be the “king of the lottery” as it supplies almost each and every one organization that runs the popular game.
