The famous online casino brand, Mr Green ordered its affiliate partners to stop immediately any kind of advertising or promotion that is referred to the brand’s casino site. Owned by MRG Group, Mr Green has been an important ‘player’ in the British market but the recent changes in the market’s compliance led the Maltese operator to ‘freeze’ its casino services in the UK.
The company sent a notice to its affiliates addressing them to put the promotions’ material including banners, text links, pop-ups and social media posts,at hold. However, instead of just getting rid of the casino material, Mr Green instructed its affiliate partners to replace it with its sportsbook product.
MRG Group claimed that they have replaced all the Casino and Live Casino banners with Sportsbook ones. The reinstatement of the Casinos banners will be allowed only through a further notice from the company.
This is the second time in the last few months that Mr Green is obliged to withdraw a product due to compliance reasons. The casino changes in the UK followed the ones for the closing of its betting site in Germany. Germany’s 16 Federal States participate in ongoing discussions regarding the regulatory framework of the country.
Financial news isn’t that great as well for MRG Group which announced a ‘mixed international performance’ for its brands at the end of 2019. The company expects a significant slide for its net revenues regarding Q4 of 2019.
